Every day of the Passu Batura Glacier Trek turns to be fascinating making the whole trip an incredible lifetime experience. Our guides porters and cooks will be assisting you throughout the trek. You will also trek to Fatimahal, which is a summer village (pasture) of the Wakhis. Passu Batura Glacier Trek will lead you here and from this place, you will get spectacular views of the many peaks in the Batura area. Trek to Yashpert and a walk to Yokopirt are also part of the trek. The trek will finally end after we reach Karimabad Hunza, where you will have a hotel stay.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Pakistan

Welcome to Pakistan at Islamabad and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon we will make a city sightseeing tour of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which offers a great contrast of culture, archaeology, and planning. Rawalpindi is an old city with narrow lanes and bustling bazaars while Islamabad is a modern and the only planned city of Pakistan serving as the capital of the state. Raja Bazaar, Murree Road, Lok Virsa Museum, and Shah Faisal Mosque are the places of tourist interest included in the tour.

Day 2Islamabad – Chilas

We depart from Islamabad and arrive at Besham crossing the famous towns of Abbottabad and Mansehra. Later on, following the upstream course of River Indus, we will make photo stops at Shatial rocks with ancient graffiti’s on them. After a long day aboard, we arrive at Chilas and transfer to a hotel for overnight. If the road is not accessible then will try to travel from Naran, Babusar top to Chilas.

Day 3Chilas – Gulmit

Some interesting carvings can be seen on the rocks at Chilas, even from the window of your vehicle. Next to Chilas is the Nanga Parbat viewpoint offering breathtaking views. The next stop will be at the unique point where world three largest mountain ranges, Karakoram, Himalayas, and the HinduKush meets. It is located near the confluence of Indus and Gilgit Rivers. We bye passes Gilgit Town and continues our drive on KKH. We cross several villages of Hunza & Nagar valleys and make a photo stop at Rakaposhi viewpoint. Driving straight to Gulmit, a quiet and serene village in the upper Hunza region, and stay overnight in Hotel.

Day 4Gulmit – Excursion Khunjerab Pass

Today we will make an excursion to the china-Pak border at Khunjerab, crossing the villages of Passu and Sost. Khunjerab is the highest point on KKH at 4734 meters and is considered the highest trade route in the world. In the evening we will return to Gulmit.

Day 5Gulmit – Borit Lake – Passughar

We will drive by jeeps to Borit Lake to start trekking and cross a dry ridge of Passu Glacier to arrive at Passughar.

Day 6Passughar – Luzdhar

We will cross the Passu glacier with our experienced guide and arrive at Luzdhar across the glacier which is a deserted shepherd settlement and pastures.

Day 7Luzdhar – Patundas

After a steep but moderate grade climb, we cross the ridge between Passu and Batura glaciers. A trek leads to the base camp of Passu Peak from here. We arrive at Patundas for the overnight stay in tents.

Day 8Patundas – Mulunghil

This is a steep descent to Mulunghil on Batura Glacier; however, the scenery is superb and rewarding which compensates for the hardships of the route.

Day 9Mulunghil – Yashprit

Today we will cross the Batura glacier and this traverse is quite demanding. Our campsite is Yashprit which means a pasture of horses. Yashprit offers spectacular views of Batura Glacier lying down the valley.

Day 10Yashprit – Kukhil

Following the shepherd’s trail, we reach Putmahal or Fatimahil later proceed to Kukhil, a small summer settlement with a few huts of shepherds.

Day 11Kukhil – Guchisham

Guchisham, the last summer settlement of Batura Glacier has several shepherds’ huts. A walk to lateral moraine to find superb views of Batura and Passu massifs is rewarding.

Day 12Guchisham – Day Free

Today, we will enjoy a free day at Guchisham for photography and to enjoy the beauty of surrounding peaks. An optional walk to Lupdor through a flower-filled path is recommended.

Day 13Guchisham – Putmahal

We start our return trek and retracing the footmarks, we arrive at Putmahal for an overnight stay.

Day 14Putmahal – Yunzbin

Crossing Yokprit ( meaning a yak pasture ) We trek to Yunzbin. It is a green and nice place before descending to KKH.

Day 15Yunzbin – KKH – Karimabad ( Hunza Valley )

Walk down to KKH and mount on the vehicles for Karimabad, the capital of Hunza Valley. The rest of the day is free to take a shower and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

Day 16 Karimabad – Sightseeing

Ultra, Hunza Dome, Bublimating, Spantik, and Diran are famous peaks that all surround us at Karimabad, While Rakaposhi at 7788m dominates the whole panorama. At Karimabad, we visit Baltit Fort Museum and Altit Fort. The rest of the day is free for walking around villages and famous terraced fields of Hunza.

Day 17Karimabad – Gilgit

We will drive back to Gilgit, where we enjoy free time to explore the bazaar and town. Gilgit River flowing through the town offers superb views and walk along its banks is rewarding.

Day 18Gilgit – Besham

Return journey on KKH to Chilas, the place at the foot of Nanga Parbat, where hundreds of rocks are found with inscriptions, writings, and drawings of old times. We will make a photo stop at Chilas and Shatial Rocks and continue driving to Besham for an overnight stay.

Day 19Besham – Islamabad

Making an early departure for Islamabad, we arrive at Taxila, the famous capital of Buddhists. At Taxila, we will visit Julian Monastery and Archaeological Museum and resume the drive to Islamabad overnight. In Islamabad, the evening is free for packing and individual activities.

Day 20Departure

Our staff will provide transfer and assistance at departure and say bon voyage for your onwards journey.
